Melland students and staff have been using technology across a range of subjects so far this term, as the ICT and media team have conducted some research into new technologies that can enhance teaching and learning in the classroom and beyond. The school has recently invested in a fantastic selection of new equipment, as we know that when teachers are digitally literate and trained to use ICT, these approaches can lead to the development of higher order thinking skills, provide creative and individualised options for students to express their understandings and leave students better prepared to deal with ongoing, fast moving technological change in society and the workplace. From creating films in the studio; to combining ICT and staying fit in PE lessons with the new Nintendo Ring Fit Adventure; to using online tools to help develop literacy, this investment benefits all.
