Melland hopes to make theatre world record

On 20th November – World Children’s Day – the world’s largest youth drama festival will be celebrating Shakespeare as schools across the UK take part in an evening of live theatre, all linked by video – and Melland High School is taking part.

One Night of Shakespeare by Coram Shakespeare Schools Festival will give students the opportunity to showcase their achievements, reinvigorate their communication skills and work as a team.

The performance has been months in planning, with workshops, CPD sessions and digital support for the hundreds of schools taking part.

With the temporary closure of the UK’s theatres, Melland High School students will join thousands of others in a record-breaking attempt, performing the tragedy Hamlet, pre-recording their performance and uploading it to the school sites.

We’ll be logging in to watch!
