Chartered College of Teaching Fellowship at Bright Futures

We are delighted to announce that two of our executive team have been awarded Chartered College of Teaching Fellowship Status.

Dr John Stephens, CEO and Lisa Fathers, Director of Teaching School and Partnerships, join teaching professionals across the UK with this Fellowship (FCCT), which is held by the most committed teachers – and leaders and granted when they have shown a consistent and significant contribution to the education profession. It delivers access to a wide range of training and professional events to further improve the education of children and young people. Lisa and John have been invited to an event at the House of Lords in November along with other successful Fellows.

Lisa comments: “We have a Teaching School, a SCITT and a Maths Hub at the heart of our Trust and we know that our staff are our greatest resource. We are committed to training and developing teachers who are determined to strengthen the profession. We want our new teachers to be evidence informed with a desire to learn from the best research available.”

John comments: “I have been a keen supporter of the Chartered College since it began and have gained enormously from the teacher-led research and professional networking opportunities that the College promotes. At BFET we fully support the College and all that it is doing to celebrate, support and connect all teachers. If we work collectively we can continue to raise the status and the voice of the teaching profession.”
