OFSTED heaps praise on magnificent Melland!

Students and staff at Melland High School in Gorton are celebrating after Ofsted yet again rated the Bright Futures Educational Trust academy “OUTSTANDING”!

In a report to principal Mrs Sue Warner which is laden with praise and recognition of the excellent education the Academy provides its students, Ofsted inspectors highlighted that “Leaders, governors and staff are relentless in their pursuit of excellence in every aspect”.

They continued “Excellent relationships are key to your success. Staff work closely with pupils, their families and other professionals. Teaching staff make sure that they know each and every pupil extremely well. Pupils’ best interests are at the heart of every aspect of school life. Parents and carers are delighted with the positive difference the school makes for their children.”

Other selected highlights in a report with far too many favourable comments to mention here include:

  • Staff are quite rightly proud to work at the school.
  • Pupils relish the wealth of extra-curricular and enrichment activities, including trips and visits, which complement the school’s core curriculum.
  • Your school and staff are held in high regard by colleges, schools and the local authority.

Melland High School Principal Sue Warner commented “I am absolutely delighted with the Ofsted judgement of “Outstanding”. This is a true reflection of the hard work and commitment of staff and governors at Melland High School in their relentless determination to ensure the very best outcomes for all our pupils and their families.”

Parents of students at the academy praised staff saying “This is a fantastic report which reflects everything I have experienced as a parent at Melland High School” and “We are thrilled for Melland and this very well deserved recognition of their care and expertise”.
