Dame Dana has dedicated over 30 years to the teaching profession, most recently becoming a founding member of Bright Futures Educational Trust – an organisation committed to raising aspirations in students across the North West, whatever their background.

She built her reputation while headteacher at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, where she still holds the executive headship. She works regionally, nationally and internationally to explore and challenge education practice, and receiving this honour today at Buckingham Palace celebrates the opportunities and choices she has opened to thousands of children through her tireless dedication to improving education for all.
