South Shore Academy is the first high school in Blackpool to offer free breakfasts to all of its pupils. This is part of the Government’s National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast. Research has proved that a healthy breakfast can provide children with the energy and nutrients they need to thrive by increasing alertness, improving behaviour and raising their motivation to learn. As a NSBP School, South Shore is pleased to offer a healthy breakfast, free of charge and available to all. The programme started on Monday 1st April with students being offered warm buttered bagels on their arrival into school.
